Cygwin

If xterm is giving you the "Can't open display" routine, try setting DISPLAY to localhost:0. If screen will not run due to a 'terminal' issue, it may be a conflict with another Cygwin install. Make sure that the screen package has been installed for this particular installation, since it may be reaching into another install's bin path for the executable.

Trying to figure out through a web search what the cygwin terminal executable is called is a nightmare. So, here it is, revealed to mankind for the first time: \bin\mintty.exe
